I think of each piece of art I produce as part of a series of emotional responses to my world as I travel through space and time.

I simply enjoy creating the visual illusion of a 3D space on a 2D surface. Most of my work is based on examining this phenomenon and coming up with ways to trick or entertain the eye. Most recently my work deals with layering of planes of space, hidden images, reflections and using light and shadow on fabric or paper constructs to show movement through a moment in time.

But there is also a dual side to the personality of my work - portrait style photo realism. A chance to produce a portrait style painting of a classic Triumph TR3 sportscar has led to a series of commissions that have taken me on a different journey and allowed me to explore and express myself in other ways. I love achieving the illusion of light reflections on metal and glass, perfecting the lines inherent in the beautiful design of classic vehicles and placing them in contrasting natural settings. There is also an immense satisfaction in seeing the pleasure clients derive from having their pride and joy captured in oil on canvas.
